One year (and a couple weeks) ago, a
Chic Lady and her
Chic Lady's Man tied the knot. Boy a year goes by fast, but we have been incredibly blessed to experience our first year as husband and wife.
So in honor of our anniversary, I did a couple of scrap art pages, framed and hung them on our blank bathroom wall. Our very tiny, dull bathroom needed some sprucing up and I said here is my magical opportunity to use some of my craftiness and
Chic it up a little bit. Since we live in an apartment and couldn't do a complete reno (don't I sound cool using life & style slang) like I would love to do, but just took an extra step to make our drab bathroom feel more like home.
To create this wall art, I used the Cricut Heritage Cartridge, (one of my favorites) and cut out all the scrolls, the mirror and the bathtub. Very bathroom appropriate, right? Then I used our monogram in the mirror and our wedding date on the tub. This beautiful paper came from DCWV and compliments our "chocolate ocean," i.e., brown and blue, colored bathroom perfectly. The frames are actually scrapbook page frames that came from Michael's and fit standard 12x12 scrapbook paper.

Imagine looking at a blank bathroom wall day after day. Bor-ring! |

These pictures don't really do the pretty paper justice. |

You can see the detail of the paper a little better. Pardon the glare. |

My favorite part was creating the mirror. I used silver embossing powder and heating tool to create the mirror-like effect. |
My mornings in the bathroom are a little brighter with our
Chic DIY personalized wall art. Now to conquer all the other blank walls in our apartment....hahaha! Maybe dabble in a little vinyl lettering perhaps?
Here's a picture of the
Chic Couple ;-)

What space in your place would you like to DIY decorate?
